Depuff your bloat

After one too many mojitos and mouthfuls of spicy ramen at the girls’ place, your face is sure to resemble a puffer fish. Fret not, these miracle workers are but a click away. Originating from traditional East Asian medicine, Gua Sha or sometimes called ‘coining, spooning or scraping’, is instrument assisted massaging of the skin. Facial gua sha has made its way into daily routines of face junkies and are sure to stay.
Jade rollers and Rose Quartz Gua Sha facial tools are used to aid circulation of blood and toxins in the body. Toxins can be removed from the body more efficiently by targeting specific areas on the face such as under the eyes, along the jawline, forehead. Leave the tools in a ziplock bag and pop them in the fridge overnight. Wake your skin up with a cooling facial massage in the morning. Apply pressure on the skin using either tool, starting from below the ears moving downwards in the direction towards the collarbone to drain the lymphatic system, allowing your face to de-swell. Be sure to use tools in an upward direction, against gravity, to avoid wrinkle formation and sagging of the skin. Rotate throughout face for 2-3 minutes. Use your favourite oil/moisturizer alongside these tools and be consistent to obtain optimal results.
